Our mission

The Karolinska Institutet Postdoc Association (KIPA), founded in 2012, was the first of its kind in Sweden. Our overarching mission, as stated in our Constitution, is to improve the working and living conditions of and provide networking opportunities for the members of the postdoctoral community at KI, making KI a more attractive place for postdoctoral research.

To achieve this goal, KIPA’s executive board and volunteers carry out projects and events catering to the different needs of postdocs. These include the KI annual postdoc survey, social events, career development workshops, and advocacy events on labour rights, immigration rules, and diversity in science.

We serve to represent the postdoctoral community at KI and bring their voices and concerns to the KI executive leadership and the national postdoc network (SNPA), as well as collaborating with other external partners. We are also here to assist you with issues and queries you have working as a postdoc at KI or if you are planning to join KI as a postdoc. Therefore, you are warmly invited to contact us for advice and support.
